Welcome to Bronte, the green heart of Sicily, famous throughout the world for its precious pistachio.
If you are wondering what to do in Bronte, you are in the right place.
We will take you on a discovery of our beloved pistachio groves, the 'Loca' Brontesi, and show you how the Bronte pistachio is not just a product, but a true sensory journey and journey through our history.
What to see in Bronte: our pistachio groves
During our excursion, you will have the opportunity to observe the pistachio plant up close, to touch its rough bark, to breathe in the smell of pistachio resin and the air of our territory.
We will take you through our 'loco', a term that dates back to Roman times to indicate the place of production of our precious pistachio. We will reveal the tools that are used for harvesting and guide you through all the steps necessary to transform the fruit of the plant into the pistachio kernel we all know and love.
The experience will be a sensory dive amidst the pistachio trees and the typical vegetation of Etna, an immersion in the uncontaminated nature of Loco. And to end on a high note, we will delight you with a rustic tasting of typical pistachio products of our own production.
Some of these products you will find on our website, others will be a pleasant surprise. This will not be a simple tour, but an exciting adventure that will let you experience the magic of the Bronte pistachio.
Tourist destinations in Sicily: Bronte and its pistachios
Bronte is one of Sicily's most fascinating tourist destinations. Located on the western slopes of Mount Etna, it is cradled and surrounded by the beauty of Sicily's green lung, the Nebrodi Park.
Bronte is internationally known for its pistachio but there is also much more...
The part of Etna Park located in the Bronte area is considered among the most beautiful due to the presence of a lot of flora, fauna, landscapes and breathtaking views.
Also in the Bronte area, there are several mountains on the slopes of Mount Etna that offer beautiful views, dense vegetation and typical local animals such as the wild cat, fox, golden eagle, partridge, etc.
The Pistacchieti (Pistachio groves) are also magical places where time seems to have stopped in the 1400s when a major lava flow occurred.
The magma flow later covered much of the Bronte area with volcanic rock, where pistachio plants now take root.
In fact, pistachios grow on the unique, uneven and steep lava terrain.
That is why we decided to organise these excursions to discover the pistachio groves.
WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU!
